The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will come to a close on Sunday, September 9, with the screening of the film Wild Wealth, produced by the Inter-American Development Bank and National Geographic. The screening will take place at the auditorium of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) at 7:00 pm.

This Saturday, September 8 at 4:00 pm in the auditórium of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), recycling will be the star of the Second Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DREFF). Later on the same day, the Festival will present the documentaries Discover La Vega: Pride of My Land at 5:00 pm, and Waste Land at 7:00 pm.

“Plastic is to the ocean as cholesterol is to the blood,” proclaimed environmentalist Doug Woodring, during the workshop “Plastic Vortex: Our Oceans, Plastic and Other Trash.” With these words, the representative of Ocean Recovery Alliance warned of the grave danger that the increase of plastic waste in the oceans signifies for marine life.
