GFDD Elected to Executive Committee of the Council on Organizations (COO) — an Initiative of United Nations Association of the United States of America (UN-USA)
On June 1-4 GFDD attended the 2013 UNA-USA Annual Meeting that took place in Washington, DC. To honour UNA-USA 70th anniversary, in the Meeting, the Foundation proudly participated in the celebration of the Association’s recent developments, including strengthening its liaison position with the UN and launching new initiatives such as GenerationUN (GenUN), which greater involves young people in the work of UNA-USA, UNA-USA’s first Affinity Group and UNA
Women, which has helped connect members with the vital work the United Nations is doing to empower women worldwide.

GFDD Supports the Dominican Consulate in New York at the 2013 Meritorious Student Award Ceremony
As part of its mission to promote academic excellence within the Dominican community, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) offered their support to the Consulate of the Dominican Republic in New York headed by Cónsul General Félix Antonio Martínez at their event “The Meritorious Student Award” ceremony, which acknowledges outstanding student achievement.

Carlos Enrique García González, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations, has accepted GFDD’s invitation to participate in the seventeenth edition of its online broadcasting program series “Global Roundtable,” to be held in the Foundation’s New York office on July 1, 2013.

Summer 2013 InteRDom Interns Conclude Orientation Week
InteRDom is proud to announce the completion of an exciting and successful orientation week for the Summer 2013 InteRDom interns in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. During the week of June 3, 2013, InteRDom welcomed nine students hailing from the United States and Europe, who spent the week preparing for their internships, research, academic studies and cultural excursions in which they will participate this summer.

Vegano Culture featured in Upper Manhattan at GFDD and FUNGLODE’s DGT in the Big Apple
Enthused guests were treated to dancing and the lively sounds of the Dominican Carnival in La Vega on Thursday night, June 6, during Global Foundation for Democracy and Development’s popular initiative, Dominican Get-togethers in the Big Apple.

GFDD/FUNGLODE attended the 43rd General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS)
“This year we have more than 500 invited civil society, labor, and private sector organizations which bears testimony to the importance you place on the work being done by the Organization,” Secretary General Insulza said.

The Second Annual Dominican Film Festival in New York City is Made Possible with Collaboration and Support of GFDD and FUNGLODE
In collaboration with Cine-Art, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will appear as a partner and supporter for the Dominican Film Festival in New York (DFFNY) that will be held from June 26-30, 2013 at the Alumni Auditorium, Columbia University Medical Center, New York City.
