GFDD and FUNGLODE Inaugurates the III DR Environmental Film Festival in Several Cities around the Country on Thursday
After its successful Gala Inauguration in Santo Domingo on Wednesday, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), opened the III Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) on Thursday with gala celebrations and gatherings, large and small, around the country, attracting film lovers and environmental activists and enthusiasts from all walks of life in
theaters from Sosúa Bay, Puerto Plata, Baní, Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros, San Francisco de Macoris, San Juan de La Maguana, to conference rooms and cultural centers.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Celebrate Opening Night Ceremony of III DR Environmental with Film Festival with Eye-opening Documentary about Population Growth
The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), held their gala ceremony to inaugurate the III Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) on Wednesday evening at the Palacio del Cine-Agora Mall in Santo Domingo.

DREFF Panels, Workshops, and a Special Masterclass Provide Ideal Platforms to Learn about Environmental Issues
To the delight of the participants, the Foundations have prepared a full spectrum of Festival program activities, including 55 environmental film screenings and a wide variety of side activities such as panels, workshops and a master class, with the aim of raising awareness and deepening an understanding of environmental issues among Dominicans.

Environment Dictionary Exhibit Inaugurated at the Dominican Children’s Library (Biblioteca Infantil y Juvenil República Dominicana)
A group of some 50 enthusiastic public school students from La Escuela Básica de Jacagua had the rare opportunity of discover the wondrous and rich biodiversity of their country at an exhibit currently on display at the Dominican Children’s Library (Biblioteca Infantil y Juvenil República Dominicana).

Join In with Fun and Meaningful Activities at the III Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival, 4-8 September 2013
During the III DR Environmental Film Festival on September 4-8, 2013, participants will have a unique opportunity to take an active role in furthering the festival’s objectives aimed at awareness-raising among people in the DR about the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.

GFDD/FUNGLODE to Participate in Upcoming Dominican Book Fair in New York
The GFDD and FUNGLODE, will be participating in the 7th annual Dominican Book Fair at New York’s Boricua College (Manhattan campus) from September 27-29.

DREFF Activities to Kick-Off with Opening of Two Extraordinary Exhibits
As part of the long-awaited lead-up to the III DREFF, the Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment Exhibit officially opens at the Dominican Children’s Library on September 3, at 10:00 am. The Library is on George Washington Avenue in Santo Domingo.
