InteRDom Forms New Relationships and Finds Inspiration at CIEE Annual Conference
The 2013 CIEE Annual Conference was buzzing with energy as InteRDom representatives joined more than 500 international education professionals to discuss innovations and demands in the field of education abroad, while forming new relationships with study abroad professionals from different universities across the US and abroad.

DREFF joins the Siempre Mas Foundation in realizing the Sixth and Seventh Educational Expeditions to Pico Duarte
The Sixth and Seventh Educational Expeditions to Pico Duarte, organized by Karim Mella’s Siempre Mas Foundation, in collaboration with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) among other organizations, took place this past September 12-15 and October 3-6, respectively.

InteRDom to Attend CIEE Annual Conference in Minneapolis
Staying up-to-date on current study abroad trends and practices is vital for the evolution of all international education programs. In order to discuss new innovations and demands in the field of education abroad, and to form new relationships with study abroad professionals from different universities, representatives from InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic will attend the 2013 CIEE Annual
Conference from November 20-23 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Yale University Hosts 10 Dominican Students for the First Successful Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program
The majestic campus of Yale University was an elegant backdrop for the first edition of the Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program, which drew to a successful close on November 16, 2013 after five days of rigorous academics, engaging dialogue, lively conversation and great fun between the student members of Yale’s Dominican Student Association (Quisqueyalies) and the ten student participants from the Dominican Republic.

GFDD and FUNGLODE participates in the XIII Annual IDB – Civil Society Meeting
Since 2000, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has conducted the Annual IDB Civil Society Meetings. Representatives meet with members of the Civil Society Consulting Groups (ConSocs) and civil society institutions in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

GFDD Strengthens Partnerships with Dominican Student Leaders from Universities and Colleges in Washington DC, and around the U.S.
On November 15, 2013, following his successful keynote address at George Washington University entitled, “Political Communication and Campaigns: Winning Strategies and Governance”, former President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez, and current president of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) took the opportunity to convene a meeting with active Dominican leaders in Washington’s academic community

Former Dominican President Gives Keynote at George Washington University (GWU)
Dr. Leonel Fernandez, Former President of the Dominican Republic and current President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, and its sister organization in the DR, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, (FUNGLODE), gave the keynote address at a George Washington University (GWU).

President Fernandez Visits with Head of CLAS at Georgetown University
During his visit to Washington DC, the former President of DR, Leonel Fernandez visited Georgetown University to meet with the Director of the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS), Mark Chernick, to continue to fortify ties between their respective institutions and the Dominican Republic.

Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program Launches First Activity at Yale University
Ten Dominican college students traveled today to participate in the first edition of the Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program from November 11-16, 2013 at Yale University.

DREFF Presents its Environmental Agenda in 20th Environmental International Film Festival (FICMA)
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, presented its year-round Environmental Program agenda at one of the most recognized festivals in Europe, the Environmental International Film Festival (FICMA) in Barcelona, Spain.
