InteRDom Announces it Will Host 2015 AAPLAC Conference in Santo Domingo
The 25th Annual Conference of the Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC) came to a close on Saturday, February 22 in Bogotá, Colombia with the announcement that InteRDom would host the 2015 edition of the conference at its parent institution, FUNGLODE’s, headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Questions Seeking to Send a Message to the World is Main Topic of Workshop Held in Collaboration with Human
The FUNGLODE-hosted workshop, “The Art of the Interview: Techniques for Establishing Good Dialogue in the Production of a Documentary,” introduced French filmmaker Yan Arthus-Bertrand’s new documentary Human as well as serving as a practical session wherein part of the film’s technical team explained to the audience about the methods they use in doing the film’s interviews and shared tips on how to connect with their interview subjects.

GFDD and Human Film Crew to Give Workshop on “The Art of the Interview: Techniques for Establishing Good Dialogue in the Production of a Documentary”
As part to the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival’s (DREFF) year-round activities, GFDD and the film crew of Human are organizing a workshop on documentary interviewing techniques for filmmakers, journalists and broadcasters. The workshop will take place on Monday February 17 at 6:00 pm at the offices of FUNGLODE in Santo Domingo.

InteRDom to Attend 25th Annual AAPLAC Conference in Bogota, Colombia
The Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC) is celebrating its 25th “silver” anniversary, hosting its annual conference at the Universidad de La Salle in the city of Bogotá, Colombia. InteRDom representatives are excited to participate in the 4 days’ worth of workshops, excursions and social activities from February 19-22 surrounding the theme “Cross Cultural Tools in Constructing Un Mundo

Educational System Must be Transformed According to its Cultural Realities Say Top Dominican Educators

GFDD Short Film Wins in the Documentary Category at Green Lens Environmental Film Festival in Illinois
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development’s Short Film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” (¿Basura o recurso? Experiencia de la República Dominicana?), has been selected as best Documentary at the Green Lens Environment Festival, which runs from February 24-27 in downtown DeKalb, Illinois.

Innovative Educational Strategy Proposed At GFDD and FUNGLODE Film Forum
An interesting new initiative by GFDD and FUNGLODE, a film forum for “Innovative Education: Proposals concerning the realities of a changing world” began on February 11th at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo. The Forum, which took place with the support of the International Advisory Committee on Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic (CIACT), showed a screening of the film “The Forbidden Education.”
