The former Head of State and President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), Leonel Fernández will moderate a High Level panel discussion at United Nations Headquarters in New York entitled, “Contributions of North-South, South-South, Triangular Cooperation, and Information and Communication Technologies for the Implementation of the Post-2015 Development Agenda”.

Dominican Ministry of Environment’s Eco-visitas Program to be Hosted by GFDD and FUNGLODE
Some two hundred and forty students will be participating in the 46th edition of the Eco-visitas program for Environmental Education and Recreation, which is promoted by the Dominican Ministry of Environment’s Department of Education and Environmental Training.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Dominican Film Showcase to Screen in New York’s Upper West Side
GFDD and FUNGLODE will host a three day Dominican Film Showcase Program (DFS), May 21-23 2014 in partnership with Symphony Space, a performing arts center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York. The opening night film on May 21 will showcase an action drama entitled “Biodegradable”, followed the next day, May 22, by an inspiring documentary “The Mountain”. The DFS will close on May 23 with Dominican musical “Sol Caribe”.

GFDD awarded status of UNEP accredited civil society organization
On Monday May 12, 2014, GFDD received official confirmation from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) that it is now an officially accredited member of UNEP’s Governing bodies, such as the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UNEP and its subsidiary bodies.
