  • GFDD and FUNGLODE Dominican Film Showcase to Screen in New York’s Upper West Side

    GFDD and FUNGLODE will host a three day Dominican Film Showcase Program (DFS), May 21-23 2014 in partnership with Symphony Space, a performing arts center on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York. The opening night film on May 21 will showcase an action drama entitled “Biodegradable”, followed the next day, May 22, by an inspiring documentary “The Mountain”. The DFS will close on May 23 with Dominican musical “Sol Caribe”.

  • Dominican Achievements in Communication Technologies Underscored by Former President Fernández

    The former President of the Dominican Republic and President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the DR, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), Leonel Fernández, highlighted the great progress achieved by his country in the field of technological development during an extensive trip to Miami and Chicago in the United States during the first half of May, 2014.

  • GFDD and FUNGLODE Announce New Initiatives with Chicago Universities

    Dr. Leonel Fernández, in his capacity as President of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its international arm in the United States, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), signed two agreements for inter-agency collaboration promoting technological development with De Paul University, and the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), in the U.S..

  • GFDD awarded status of UNEP accredited civil society organization

    On Monday May 12, 2014, GFDD received official confirmation from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) that it is now an officially accredited member of UNEP’s Governing bodies, such as the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UNEP and its subsidiary bodies.

  • GFDD to Participate in Annual International Development Conference

    On May 20, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development’ (GFDD) Senior Management will join more than 600 development professionals representing the private sector, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, government agencies, multilateral institutions, and universities to actively engage together at the Society for International Development (SID) -Washington 2014 Annual Conference.
