  • “Orgullo de mi Tierra: Descubre Puerto Plata” to be Presented in New York City in Collaboration with GFDD

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in collaboration with the Puerto Plata Tourism Cluster (Clúster del Destino Turístico Puerto Plata), the Asociación de Puertoplateños en Nueva York, Centro Cuesta Nacional (CCN) and its renowned initiative Orgullo de mi Tierra, will present the documentary “Descubre Puerto Plata” (Discover Puerto Plata) on Saturday, November 1st,
    2014 at Symphony Space 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, New York, NY 10025.

  • GFDD Attended the World Bank Youth Summit 2014

    Representatives of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) participated in the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2014, held in Washington, D.C. October 7, 2014. Under the general theme “The need for open and responsive governments” this Youth Summit gathered approximately 250 participants from civil society organizations, government officials, development professionals, journalists and students from all over the world.

  • GFDD Presents the Documentary Descubre Barahona-Pedernales: Orgullo de mi Tierra

    Next Monday, October 6, 2014 Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will present the documentary Descubre Barahona-Pedernales: Orgullo de mí Tierra. The event, also coordinated by the “Asociación de Barahoneros de Nueva York”, will take place at 6:00 pm at the Isabella Home Center, located on 515 Audubon Avenue in New York. Guest speaker is Mr. Virgilio Gautreaux Piñeyro.

  • Music Icons Rafael Solano and Johnny Ventura Will Be Part of the Event Dominican Get Together in Miami, Florida

    Rafael Solano and Johnny Ventura, distinguished exponents of Dominican music, will be performing in Miami, Florida on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 6:30 pm at Miami Dade College. The Dominican Get Together(s) event, an initiative of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE, by its acronym in Spanish), as part of the activities to unite the Dominican diaspora
    residing in the United States.

  • GFDD and E-Gap Linking the Dominican Community in DC

    The Dominican community in Washington D.C. enjoyed a gastronomic meeting on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the legendary Restaurant Los Hermanos, as part as the efforts of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and the Education Global Access Program (E-GAP) to promote education and collaboration around the developing world.
