Submissions for 2015 Funglode/GFDD Awards Are Extended until November 16th
GFDD/Funglode would like to announce that participation in their ninth annual Awards for the year 2015 has been extended until November 16th. The last day to hand in work for the contest will be Monday, November 16th before 4:00 in the afternoon. Submissions must be handed in at the Funglode offices in Santo Domingo: Funglode Culture Studies Center, calle Capitán Eugenio de Marchena #26, La Esperilla, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic or in the GFDD office in New York: 780 Third

“We Need Programs that Overcome Deep Rooted Institutional Discrimination” States a Participant at the UN Commemoration of the International Decade for People of African Descent
GFDD/Funglode was present at the UN for a special event titled, “Confronting the Silence: Perspectives and Dialogue on Structural Racism against People of African Descent Worldwide” on Wednesday November 3. The event, which commemorated the International Decade for People of African Descent Taking place (2015-2024) took place before a packed auditorium in the Economic and Social Council Chamber. Ambassador gave the keynote address underlining that “the UN is the perfect setting for resolution of these conflicts.”

Leonel Fernández signs collaboration agreement with Emirates Policy Center
The agreement provides for cooperation between Funglode and the EPC on field investigations, academic exchanges, and joint sponsorship of events promoting connections between Latin America and the Caribbean and the Arab Gulf states. Signing on behalf of the EPC was its president, Dr. Ebtesam Al-Ketbi.

Global Dominican Academic Exchange with Business Focus Commences at Babson College
A group of five Dominican college students will arrive at Boston today to participate in the final program of the 2015 year for the Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program (GDAE), from November 2-8, 2015 at Babson College. This GDAE has a special focus on the fields of Business and Entrepreneurship, as Babson College is the top entrepreneurship in the United States.
