Leonel Fernández Delivers Keynote Speech During Central American Parliament Forum (Parlacen)
Former President Dr. Leonel Fernández delivered a keynote address this past Wednesday where he spoke of the political processes experienced by Latin America in the last decades.

GFDD promotes the Dominican Republic in “Taste of the World” DC Festival
On Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 11am to 4pm, Washingtonians enjoyed the Third Annual Taste of the World Festival, an International Festival that celebrates the breath of traditions and cultures of Washington, D.C,’s diverse communities as expressed by music, dance, traditional food, arts & crafts, vendors and other cultural expressions!

Expert Highlights that it is Necessary to Invest in Youth Training for the Development of a Dominican Volunteer System
It is necessary to invest in training, simplify processes and establish mechanisms of responsibilities in order to contribute to the development of a volunteer movement in the Dominican Republic, explained expert Megan D. Beddow during the presentation of her recent study on “Key Factor of Dominican Volunteerism.”

Join Us for the 12th Annual GFDD Golf Tournament
GFDD/Funglode will be hosting its 12th Annual GFDD Golf Tournament in New York at the Glen Head Country Club and cordially invites all interested golfers to participate! The Golf Tournament, now in its 12th version, is an annual fundraiser which aims to benefit many projects and programs that the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) implements to promote social, economic and democratic development in the Dominican Republic and the United States.

DREFF, Cinemateca Dominicana and the Centros Tecnológicos Comunitarios promote environmental awareness
This past Friday, August 10th, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), together with its Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) and the Cinemateca Dominicana, screened the children’s environmental short film “Peter Plastic” to youth from the Centros Tecnológicos Comunitarios (CTC).

New Habits to Control Plastic Consumption
Last Saturday, August 11th, the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) – an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), and the National Museum of Natural History “Prof. Eugenio de Jesús Marcano” (MNHN for its Spanish initials), joint efforts to screen the documentary “Bag It!”.
