  • DRGFF Attends the 25th Edition of the Miami International Film Festival (MIFF)

    This year, for the second time, staff members of the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) joined the participants of the MIFF from February 28 – March 9, 2008, in Miami, Florida, in order to continue building a solid network of film industry professionals and identify potential panelists and films for the upcoming 2008 edition of the
    DRGFF.

  • Certificates of Completion Presented to GMAI Students

    On March 7, 2008, thirteen GMAI students received certificates of completion for their participation in the workshop, “Directing the Actor,” which took place March 3-7, 2008, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • National Geographic, GFDD and FUNGLODE Launch First Dominican Republic Adventure Map

    The National Geographic Society (NGS) has just published the first adventure map of the Dominican Republic. The project has been made possible thanks to support from Dominican President, Dr. Leonel Fernández, and collaboration by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and the Instituto Cartográfico Militar Dominicano (Dominican Military Institute of Cartography)

  • GMAI Presents Workshop on Adobe After Effect

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) will present the workshop, “Adobe After Effect.” This workshop, directed towards graduate students in the area of communications and professionals in the fields of audiovisual production, advertising and editing, will teach participants how to utilize the program, Adobe After Affect.

  • GMAI Presents Workshop on Directing the Actor

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) will be offering an innovative workshop on the Stanislavsky system of acting. “Directing the Actor” will emphasize the exploration of human emotions. The workshop will take place March 3-7, 2008, from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute Will Offer 3 Scholarships to Study Film in Cuba

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in collaboration with the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV – International School for Television and Film) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, will award three scholarships to Dominican students between the ages of 22 and 28, to take courses at EICTV for a period of three years (2008-2011), in the areas of Direction, Production, Scriptwriting, Documentary Film, Photography, Sound and Editing.

  • Celebration of 2007 GFDD and FUNGLODE Awards Ceremony

    On January 29, 2007, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will hold an awards ceremony commemorate the winners of the GFDD and FUNGLODE Awards in the categories of: Photography, Short Film, Documentary Film, Short Story, Poetry, Essay and Journalism.
