Conference at FUNGLODE on Best Practices in the Management of Internship Programs for Companies and Colleges Concludes
The 7th edition of the annual InteRDom Conference took place at FUNGLODE headquarters on October 13, and it brought together businesses and universities to discuss international standards that allow human resources and higher education professionals to facilitate access for college students to internships and to the development of a career plan.

Dr. Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic and Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE, on a trip to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly, took the opportunity to visit the photo exhibit “New Perspectives: Dominican Republic”, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, located at the City University of New York (CUNY) until October 31.

Summer 2011 Workshops for Teachers Offers Rich Academic Experience for Participants
The “Summer 2011 Workshops for Teachers,” sponsored by Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), concluded on Wednesday, August 10. Classes had been held August 8th, 9th, and 10th in Santiago, Santo Domingo, and San Pedro de Macoris, respectively.

During the XII Meeting of Virtual Educa Mexico, the Dominican Republic actively participated in many of the meetings, panels and high-level presentations conducted over the 2 day period.

Each year, VE organizes an annual “International meeting for innovation in Education and Training” gathering scholars, experts, representatives of corporations and civil society, among others, from America and Europe.

Livingstone College students showed their enthusiasm for learning the Spanish language and becoming more global citizens on Wednesday, March 30, when they led the school’s weekly student assembly in Spanish.

GFDD participates in various activities in Mexico City, Mexico
On Monday, March 14, 2011, a technical meeting on the “El aula del futuro: construyendo la escuela de la era digital” project took place. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the design of a digital classroom prototype containing this type of technology and reference tools that allow the viewing of the new educational models.

InteRDom’s Relationship with URI Grows with “New Perspectives” Exhibition
InteRDom will continue its close relationship with the University of Rhode Island this spring with a visit to the campus in Providence, Rhode Island on May 6 to meet with faculty and staff to consider a number of upcoming joint initiatives and projects.
