Her analysis and suggestions come at a time when fewer and fewer choices are left to slow the inexorable rush towards depleting or destroying the Earth’s vital resources. As GFDD Executive Director, Ms. Despotovic has rendered a thoughtful argument about how to
    move forward in the hope of achieving a lasting and logical solution to these issues- starting with a paradigm shift.

  • DREFF Announces Winners of Second Edition of Globo Verde Dominicano Contest

    A special ceremony in the presence of directors from Film Festivals all over the world, was hosted at FUNGLODE headquarters, on Saturday  evening, September 7 to announce winners of DREFF’s Second Globo Verde Dominicano Contest. After the smashing success of last year’s Globo Verde Awards,  this year’s winners have also out-done themselves! The Short Film and Public Service Announcement Competition, whose objective is to generate environmental awareness and sustainable
    development, welcomed entries from far and wide across DR.

  • GFDD and FUNGLODE Inaugurates the III DR Environmental Film Festival in Several Cities around the Country on Thursday

    After its successful Gala Inauguration in Santo Domingo on Wednesday, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), opened the III Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) on Thursday with gala celebrations and gatherings, large and small, around the country, attracting film lovers and environmental activists and enthusiasts from all walks of life in
    theaters from Sosúa Bay, Puerto Plata, Baní, Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros, San Francisco de Macoris, San Juan de La Maguana, to conference rooms and cultural centers.

  • GFDD & FUNGLODE present III DR Environmental Film Festival

    The third edition of the DR Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will be held on September 4-8 in eight cities: Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Francisco de Macorís, Baní, San Juan de la Maguana and Sosúa and a total of 19 venues and an inviting lineup for schools, universities and communities.

  • III DREFF Convenes First Volunteer Meeting

    On Tuesday, July 2, the organizers of the Third DR Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will convene  two separate meetings, one at 10 am and the other at 5 pm, to interview potential volunteers for the upcoming third edition of the Festival to be celebrated
    September 4-8, 2013.
