“Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” to be Screened at the BLUE Ocean Film Festival 2014
GFDD-Funglode’s short film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” will be screened this Friday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the BLUE Ocean Film Festival, taking place this week at St. Petersburg, Florida. The film, a finalist in the category of Foreign Language Film, was directed by Natasha Despotovic, Executive Director of GFDD.

El Centro León Welcomes Students for the Screening of the Documentary La Montaña, as Part of the Educational Trip to Pico Duarte
A group of young students enjoyed the screening of the documentary La Montaña, a film that shows the adventure of the first Dominican expedition that ascends to the summit of Mount Everest in Nepal. The event took place on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Centro León, as part of the Educational Excursion to Pico Duarte and RDescubre program. This presentation is one of the initiatives that Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in
theDominican Republic, Fundación Global Desarrollo y Democracia (Funglode) offers through this program.

Dominican Diaspora in NY Rejoices with Documentary Orgullo de mi Tierra: Descubre Puerto Plata
An enthusiastic audience participated on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Dominican Get Together organized by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), where the documentary Orgullo de mi Tierra: Descubre Puerto Plata was screened. The activity, held at the Symphony Space, was made in collaboration with the Clúster Turístico del Destino Puerto Plata, the Puertoplateños Association of the United States and Centro Cuesta Nacional (CCN).
