GFDD, FUNGLODE and the Puerto Plata Tourism Cluster Present the III Edition of the DR Environmental Film Festival
On Friday August 23, 2013, the III Edition of the DR Environmental Film Festival was announced at a press conference held in the government offices of Puerto Plata. The Festival, to be held from September 4-8, will take place in eight cities: Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Francisco de Macorís, Baní, San Juan de la Maguana and Sosúa at a total of 19 venues.

GFDD and FUNGLODE in Association with the Perelló Cultural Center present the third edition of the Dominican Environmental Film Festival in Baní
The third edition of the Dominican Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will take place September 4 to 8 in eight cities: Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Francisco de Macoris, Baní, San Juan de la Maguana and Sosúa. The event will be held in a total of 19 movie theaters, with an interesting program for schools, universities and all communities.

This past Monday, the former President of the Dominican Republic and honorary President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), Dr. Leonel Fernández, visited the Maurice Kanbar Film and Television Institute of the Tisch School of Arts at New York University, one of the most prestigious schools of cinema.

On July 18, 2013, within the framework of Substantive Session of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development was officially granted special consultative status with ECOSOC.

Taxes Are an Antidote to Aid Dependence and a Solution to Sustainable Growth Says United Nations Official during GFDD’s Global Roundtable
Michael Lennard, Chief of International Tax Cooperation and Trade in the Financing for Development Office (FfDO) of the United Nations, joined GFDD at its broadcast program for an interesting discussion on international tax matters, and asserted that taxes are an antidote to aid dependence and a solution to sustainable growth.
