New Perspectives Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit Pairs with High Fashion to Benefit Children in Need
The New Perspectives Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, stepped out in high fashion on March 7, 2013, collaborating with the Celia Cruz Foundation to support the 2nd Annual Fundraiser for The DREAM Project, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit serving the educational needs of over 4,000 children and youth born into poverty along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic.

United Nations Panel During the Commission on Status of Women Affirms Education is Key to Women Empowerment
On Wednesday, March 6, GFDD and FUNGLODE, in partnership with the Dominican Republic Mission to the UN, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Women, Reso-Femmes-International and the Alliance of Civilizations extensively collaborated on a Side Event within the framework of the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

DREFF Audience Award Winner Officially Recognized at GFDD office in New York
As a follow up to the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), GFDD is honored to be able to give a recognition prize to Director, Kip Pastor, and his film In organic We Trust, as the official 2012 Audience Award Winner. The documentary film came out as top pick out of DREFF 2012’s diverse selection of 24 acclaimed films – 13 featured films, 6 short films, 3 Dominican productions and 2 retrospectives.

GFDD to be part of the IV Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Documentary Filmmakers in Mexico
The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, GFDD, thanks to the support of distinguished documentary filmmaker, Martha Checo, will participate in the IV Encuentro de Documentalistas de América Latina y del Caribe XXI (EnDocXXI), a gathering of Latin American and Caribbean documentary filmmakers. The meeting will be held from March 5th to 8th, 2013, as part of the 28th edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG28).
