The Fourth Dominican Republic Global Film Festival ended Monday 22 on a high note with fundraising concert by star of stage and screen Liza Minnelli. President Leonel Fernandez that afternoon had just added “Officer of the Heraldic Order of Christopher Columbus” (Orden Heráldica de Cristóbal Colón en el Grado de Oficial) to her three Tony Awards, an Oscar, an Emmy, two Golden Globes and a Grammy Legend Award.

Jury Chooses First, Second and Third Place Winners in the Second Annual Short Films Competition
The jury of the Short Films Competition, comprised of experienced film professionals from the Dominican Republic and abroad, has chosen the winners of the II Short Films Competition of the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival. Out of the eleven finalists, the jury has awarded three short films for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Jury Begins Evaluating 50 Entries for Second Annual Short Film Competition
The jury for the II Short Film Competition of the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival began its selection of the 11 finalists among whom they will choose three winners. The final verdict will be announced at the closure of this year’s Festival on Sunday November 21st.
