We regard them as seriously offensive to Mexican immigrants in the United States and consequently an attack on the entire Latin American and Caribbean community, both within and outside that country.

DREFF Arrives in Barahona for the First Time
Dozens of students from the health and education fields at the Catholic University of Technology of Barahona (UCATEBA, by its acronym in Spanish) participated in the screening of the documentary Extinction in Progress, as part of the year round environmental screenings of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF). This activity is part of the interagency agreement signed this year between the DREFF and the Red de Universidades
Ambientales (RAUDO), through which, among other things, a schedule of projections is developed all-year-round.

GFDD fellow develops procedures to improve quality of life and mental state for Parkinson’s patients
Henry Montero presented in Santo Domingo his book, “Terapia cognitivo-conductual en pacientes con psicosis del Parkinson” (Cognitive behavioral therapy in patients with Parkinson’s Disease), the result of extensive research done under GFDD’s Fellow Program.

GFDD/DREFF and FUNIBER: Promoting Sustainable Development Awareness in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) hosted a lecture on sustainable development. The event was held at the Barceló Hotel in Santo Domingo with approximately 100 people in attendance.

This global online festival promotes restoring the wholeness of the environment through film.
