  • More Than 1,200 Students Attend CILA 2005

    The United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR) in collaboration with the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its sister institution Global Foundation for Democracy and Development from the US (GFDD) coordinated the International Conference of the Americas (CILA 2005) that took place from 11 to 15 May 2005 in Bavaro in Dominican Republic.

    The former US President and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Jimmy Carter inaugurated the Lecture Series with his keynote address, “Promise and Peril of Democracy.” In his presentation, Mr. Carter urged the OAS to further democracy in the Western Hemisphere.
