GFDD’s RDescubre Program embarks on a whale watching adventure
RDescubre in collaboration with Listin Diario’s Plan Lea initiative, will be organizing an educational whale watching tour on March 15th, 2014, under the framework of Geography Week (Semana de la Geografia). Forty-one exceptional students have been selected from 10 schools around the country to participate in this amazing journey.

GFDD received recognition at the Green Lens Environmental Film Festival 24-27 February 2014, where its short film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience,” an official selection of this year’s festival won the Best Documentary Category.

Questions Seeking to Send a Message to the World is Main Topic of Workshop Held in Collaboration with Human
The FUNGLODE-hosted workshop, “The Art of the Interview: Techniques for Establishing Good Dialogue in the Production of a Documentary,” introduced French filmmaker Yan Arthus-Bertrand’s new documentary Human as well as serving as a practical session wherein part of the film’s technical team explained to the audience about the methods they use in doing the film’s interviews and shared tips on how to connect with their interview subjects.

GFDD and Human Film Crew to Give Workshop on “The Art of the Interview: Techniques for Establishing Good Dialogue in the Production of a Documentary”
As part to the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival’s (DREFF) year-round activities, GFDD and the film crew of Human are organizing a workshop on documentary interviewing techniques for filmmakers, journalists and broadcasters. The workshop will take place on Monday February 17 at 6:00 pm at the offices of FUNGLODE in Santo Domingo.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development’s Short Film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” (¿Basura o recurso? Experiencia de la República Dominicana?), has been selected as best Documentary at the Green Lens Environment Festival, which runs from February 24-27 in downtown DeKalb, Illinois.
