Warm Welcome for Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience at 18th United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF)
The audience at the 18th United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF) learned about recycling and ways to use garbage as a raw material to create art and new products and a source of income. The GFDD film, “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” was chosen to be screened at the festival held in California October 15-25 and was received yesterday with a very warm welcome.

The GFDD film, “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” has been chosen to screen at the upcoming 18th United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF), held in California this October. “Garbage or Resource?” has been screened at over a dozen different international film festivals since its production in 2013, and has won several awards including Best Documentary at the Miami Short Film Festival (MSFF), Best Documentary at the Green Lens Environmental Film Festival, and
the Second Place Fan Coral Award at the Reef Renaissance Film Festival.

Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience Set to Screen at International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival and Forum on October 13
GFDD’s short film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” will be screened on October 13th, 2015 at the 8th CMS Vatavaran International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival and Forum, India’s only International Film Festival, which takes place in New Delhi, October 9-13, 2015, at the Convention Centre. The film festival has become one of the most prestigious film festivals across the globe, and has been partners with GFDD’s Dominican Republic
Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) since early 2015. Both festivals are members of the Green Film Network.

‘Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience’ screens in Cuba
As part of the 10th International Convention on Environment and Development held in La Habana, Cuba, GFDD’s short film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” was screened to a global audience of activists, environmentalists, representatives from public and private sectors, decision-makers, stake-holders, and others from more than 45 countries.

A Dominican Republic Experience” has been selected for nomination in the category of Environmental Conservation to be shown at the upcoming CMS VATAVARAN Competitive International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival and Forum, which takes place from October 9th – 12th in New Delhi.

GFDD Film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” Chosen for Continued Screening for Festival 2015: Green Unplugged
The prizewinning GFDD short film “Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience” has been selected to screen at the online Green Unplugged Festival, and will be available on the Culture Unplugged website from June to December 2015. This global online festival promotes restoring the wholeness of the environment through film.

Students from Instituto Iberia Enjoy the Screening of Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience
“Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience”, a short film produced by GFDD/Funglode directed by Ms. Natasha Despotovic, GFDD Executive Director, was screened to students of the Instituto Iberia in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The screening took place at the historical educational center’s library on February 24th 2015, and also included a presentation of GFDD’s recycled art program ReCrearte by its Coordinator, Bertha Santana.
