As a result of the International Week on Distance Education organized by GFDD/FUNGLODE, February 13-17, 2006, several relationships and alliances were developed among guest institutions and participants.
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), represented by Maria Victoria Abreu, participated in the annual Orientation Program of the United Nations Department of Public Information, NGO Section (UN DPI/NGO).
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in association with the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (SEE for its Spanish acronyms) and Microsoft, hosted a one-day seminar on the importance of certifications in education.
Throughout the course of a week workshops and lectures will be offered in which educators from different countries share their experiences on distance education and their insights into the different ways of developing such educational programs.
