  • Presentation on Computer Usage and Academic Performance Amongst Youth

    Amongst researchers, there are still more questions than answers concerning the amount of time school age children spend using computers, both in more developed and lesser developed countries. Francesc Pedró, an analyst from the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) in the inaugural presentation of Virtual Educa Caribe 2008, put these questions on the table during his presentation,“Education, Equity and Competiveness in Ibero America, ” which took place,

  • Dominican Students Attending Universities in the US Will Realize Projects with InteRDom

    The internship program, InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), participated last Saturday in the Second Annual Dominican Students Conference at New York University. During the event, more than 400 students from across the United States became familiar with InteRDom and demonstrated interest in developing projects related to areas such as: migration, health care and international
    relations.

  • Latin American Network of Educational Portals Technical Meeting in Santo Domingo

    The inauguration of the first annual technical meeting of the Red Latinoamericana de Portales Educativos (RELPE – Latin American Network of Educational Portals) took place today in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The forum was sponsored by the Dominican Ministry of Education, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).

  • Virtual Educa Caribe Conference: Education, Equity and Competitiveness in Ibero America

    The conference, “Education, Equity and Competitiveness in Ibero America,” will be presented by Francesc Pedro, Manager of the OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation in Paris, on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, marking the official commencement of the Third Edition of Virtual Educa Caribe, an activity organized by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).
