Today, March 26, 2012, the GFDD Global Roundtable hosted a discussion session with Dr. Bruce Niswander, Director of the Global Business Incubator – a recent initiative of South-South News. The Incubator seeks to facilitate government and private sector opportunity to build capacity in countries of the Global South to leverage innovation and creativity for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

Dominican Get-together is a Big Hit in Miami
Global Foundation for Democracy for Development (GFDD)’s initiative Dominican Get-Togethers is reaching out even further -a-field, and on March 21 headed south to Miami, Florida. Dominican Get-Togethers are part of GFDD’s mission to promote appreciation of Dominican culture and to create opportunities for discussions on contemporary issues relevant to Dominican society in the homeland and abroad.

Program on Global Warming and Environmental Protection Peaks Concern
On March 15, as part of the follow up to the I Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), which took place last September, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in partnership with its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracy and Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), presented a screening of the documentary film The Polar Explorer, followed by a discussion session with scientist and director Mark Terry at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo

DR Environmental Film Festival Will Organize Expedition to Pico Duarte for 45 Dominican Students
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in partnering with Dominican mountaineers Karim Mella and Federico Jovine, to organize the first-ever educational expedition to Pico Duarte in the Dominican Republic, to take place April 2-5, 2012.

GFDD has been invited to participate in the IX Annual International Book and Culture Fair in New York City organized by the Dominican Women Development Center (DWDC). The fair will be celebrated March 23, 24 and 25. GFDD will showcase its publications Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment and New Perspectives: Dominican Republic.
