Students Transfixed by Baseball Documentary at the GFDD’s Dominican Get-Togethers in the Keystone State
A dynamic assembly of students, teachers and Allentown residents alike, enjoyed a powerful and inspirational documentary about baseball at William Allen High School’s 200-seat Auditorium, as part of GFDD and FUNGLODE’s popular Dominican get-togethers program.

Students Make History During Trip to Pico Duarte
The Fourth Educational Expedition to Pico Duarte, organized by Karim Mella’s Fundacion Siempre Mas, in collaboration with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) among other organizations, took place this past February 21-24, with the participation of 76 high school students, 12 volunteers and a five-person team lead by Karim, an assistant, doctor, cook and
cameraman.

Former President Leonel Fernandez Concludes Dominican Model Inter-American System in Santo Domingo
The former President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernández, and honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE, offered the closing remarks to the third edition of the Dominican Model Inter-American System (MODOSI 2013), at the Mauricio Báez Cultural Center Auditorium of Santo Domingo.

GFDD Strengthens Association with United Nations DPI NGO
As part of its mission to promote and advance issues at the forefront of the United Nations’ agenda, in February 2013, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development as a non-profit, non-partisan organization applied for its official “Association” with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI).

GFDD Establishes Non-Profit Vendor Status in the State of New York
GFDD is pleased to announce that after the successful completion of the Vendor Enrolment Application with the City of New York, it has been duly registered in the NYC-FMS Vendor Enrolment Center and added to the New York City’s Bidders’ lists.

GFDD Collaborates on Activity Honoring Dominican High-Achievers in New York During “Duarte Honors”
On Tuesday, February 19, 2013, Hands On New York & Dominicanos Unidos de New York (DUNY), in collaboration with Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), hosted a community celebration of Dominican Heritage Month under the theme “The Duarte Honors”, within the framework of celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Juan Pablo Duarte’s birth.

Director of General Assembly and Economic and Social Council Affairs Division Confirms Participation in next GFDD Global Roundtable
On Monday, March 4, to discuss the work done by the General Assembly and ECOSOC Division, its role as one of the “wheels” to make the meetings move in the right direction, GFDD and FUNGLODE will have the pleasure to host Ion Botnaru, the Director of the Division and who interestingly also served as former Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the UN.
