UNA-DR closes DEUROMUN 2013 at UNESCO’s Headquarters
The Dominican Association of the United Nations (UNA-DR), with support from Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its sister organization in the United States, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), formally closed the Third Edition of the Dominican-European Model United Nations Conference, DEUROMUN 2013, on Friday, July 19.

III Edition of the Dominican-European United Nations Conference Model (DEUROMUN 2013) Opens in Paris, France.
On July 17, the Dominican Association of the United Nations (UNA-DR), in close collaboration with the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), will officially inaugurate the III edition of the “Dominican-European Model United Nations Conference (DEUROMUN 2013).”

The Globo Verde Dominicano Award Extends its Registration and Delivery Deadline at the Request of Contestants
As a result of the heavy rains in the Dominican Republic and after Tropical Storm Chantal passed over the island, many the participants of the II edition of the Globo Verde Dominicano Award have communicated to the offices of the GFDD asking for “a little more time” to finish up their audiovisual proposals.

First DREFF Volunteer Meeting Held in Santo Domingo
Organizers of the III DR Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), held its first meeting with volunteers who wish to help out at this year’s Festival, to be held September 4-8, 2013.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Contribute to the High Level Segment of UN ECOSOC with Delivery of Oral and Written Statement to International Organizations
On July 1-4, 2013 Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization Fundación Global Democracia y Desarollo (FUNGLODE) contributed to the Annual Ministerial Review in the framework of the 2013 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) High Level Segment with an oral statement on its stance on the role of science and technology in overcoming twenty-first century challenges, such as extreme poverty, inequality and environmental degradation.
