DREFF Holds Networking Breakfast for Filmmakers, Green Film Network Members and the Press as Part of the DCEFF
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) held today a networking breakfast for Green Film Network (GFN) members, filmmakers and friends at the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) office in Washington, D.C. The get-together was part of the official 2017 DC Environmental Film Festival (DCEFF), which is now taking place in Washington, D.C. from March 14 to March 26.

Ambassador of Peru Stresses the Need to Ensure All Members of Society Have Access to Financial Services at Commission on the Status of Women
The NGO Committee for Social Development and the NGO Committee on Financing for Development, with the support of Virginia Gildersleeve International, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, and several other NGO committee members, hosted an interactive debate at the UN Church Center in Manhattan on Monday March 13.

GFDD to Host Publication Launch on Impact Investment as a Tool for Social Development at the World Bank/IMF Civil Society Policy Forum
GFDD in partnership with the NGO Committee on Social Development and the NGO Committee on Financing for Development, will hold a publication launch and panel discussion during the 2017 World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings Civil Society Policy Forum entitled “Impact Investment as a Tool for Social Development”.

Dr. Leonel Fernández Launches Book Collection in Santiago: “Democracy, Modernity and Progress”
President of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode), and former president of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández, launched Wednesday night a compilation of political speeches delivered during his three presidential terms, previously launched in Santo Domingo last February.

GFDD/Funglode to Co-Host a UN Panel Discussion on Financial Inclusion as a Tool for Poverty Eradication and the Empowerment of Women
GFDD in partnership with the NGO Committee for Social Development and the NGO Committee on Financing for Development will host an interactive debate on Monday March 13 from 4.30pm to 6pm in the Boss Room of the UN Church Center for the United Nations on the 8th floor of 777 United Nations Plaza in New York City.

The Dominican Environmental Film Festival(DREFF) is pleased to introduce the new members of the International Advisory Committee and the National Advisory Committee, Denis Delestrac and Sixto Incháustegui, respectively.

Within a bit over a month since moving into the White House, president Donald Trump has abandoned the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), the approval of which had been pending in the US Congress; induced the auto firm Ford to return planned offshore investments to the United States; and harped on the need to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with Mexico, which he has deemed “the worst trade deal in history.”

DREFF and Cinemateca Dominicana Announce Special Program in March
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) and the Cinemateca Dominicana (part of the Dominican Republic Film Commission) will be hosting a joint program to promote environmental films in Santo Domingo.

GFDD Participates in 2017 UNA USA Members’ Day at UN Headquarters
In its capacity as Vice Chair of the United Nations Association of the USA Council of Organizations, GFDD/FUNGLODE participated in the 2017 edition of UNA-USA Members’ Day on Friday, February 17th. The annual meeting took place in the General Assembly Hall at UN Headquarters in New York City.
