  • GFDD Facilitates Exchange at DFFNY 2017

    During the “Film Production with a Caribbean Identity: a Master Class” workshop, Dominican producer Elsa Turull sat down with Eusebio to discuss her experiences since her entry into the Dominican film industry at Larimar Films SRL in 2010. Her entry coinciding with the passing of Law 108-10, which provided incentives for the promotion of local film activity, Turull has been behind the production of award-winning films and local box office hits. During the discussion, Turull
    underlined that Larimar Films has managed to produce seven films in the past six years.

  • GFDD/Funglode President Strengthens Bonds with American Thought Leaders

    Likewise, Dr. Fernández held a meeting with Becky Marshall, Chief of Staff at the World Resources Institute (WRI), to talk about the development of joint programs for the promotion of sustainable development and fighting against the adverse effects of climate change. During the encounter, the WRI committed to collaborate with Funglode as a partner on its “República Dominicana 2044” project. Its role will be to make sure that the proposals of the initiative are eco-friendly and
    sustainable.

  • GFDD and OAS Renew Agreement to Strengthen Democracy in the Americas

    “More than a decade after signing this agreement, renewing it today means that our commitment to those values and principles that will make the entire region of Latin America and the Western Hemisphere a region where there can be peaceful coexistence and democratic relationship between our peoples is even greater,” added Fernández. Meanwhile, OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro said that the objective of the agreement is “to advance the path of bringing the OAS closer to civil society
    organizations that contribute to the strengthening of the region””s democracies.”

  • DREFF and Siempre Más Foundation Promote Environmental Protection

    Siempre Más Foundation works with the El Higüero summer camp to offer classes and instruction on the environment and environmental protection. The DREFF joined these efforts to promote love for natural resources and spur members of Dominican youth to strive for their dreams.
