InteRDom to Attend 2014 Global Internship Conference in Toronto
“Internships, Co-op, Experiential Education – Where Next?”—that is the theme to be discussed at the 2014 Global Internship Conference (GIC), to be held from June 10-13, 2014 in Toronto, Canada. InteRDom will join the more than 270 professionals, educators, and researchers at the conference hosted by the University of Toronto in partnership with the Academic Internships Council (AIC) and with academic support from Michigan State University.

Dominican Students Receive Certificates in Transnational Law Through Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program
The Transnational Law Program, the latest initiative of the Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program (GDAE), came to a close on Monday, April 21 at the University of Georgia School of Law when students received certificates of participation from Dean Rusk Center for International Law and Policy director and former Congressman, C. Donald Johnson, and Global Internship Program director Maria Eugenia Gimenez.

Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program Participants Form New Friendships at National Dominican Student Conference
More than 500 attendees came together from March 27-30 at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the largest National Dominican Student Conference (NDSC) in its 8-year history, and for the first time students from the Dominican Republic participated in the conference via the Global Dominican Academic Exchange Program (GDAE).

Meet Jim Mahon, GFDD/FUNGLODE Fellow Researching Tax Incidence and Tax Reforms in the Dominican Republic and Latin America
The Fellows Program, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, is pleased to introduce the fellowship of our current scholar, Dr. James E. Mahon Jr., Professor of Political Science and Political Economy at Williams College, and researcher for the Woodrow Wilson Center. Dr. Mahon’s research focuses on the political economy of tax reforms in the Dominican Republic and the region.

Innovative Educational Strategy Proposed At GFDD and FUNGLODE Film Forum
An interesting new initiative by GFDD and FUNGLODE, a film forum for “Innovative Education: Proposals concerning the realities of a changing world” began on February 11th at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo. The Forum, which took place with the support of the International Advisory Committee on Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic (CIACT), showed a screening of the film “The Forbidden Education.”
