San Francisco de Macorís Hosts 5th Edition of Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival
The 5th edition of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) is opening in San Francisco de Macorís on Wednesday September 9th through Friday the 11th.

DREFF and UNIBE Sign Agreement to Raise Environmental Awareness and Promote Sustainable Development in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD/Funglode, signed a collaborative agreement with the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE, by its Spanish acronym), to support activities that promotes sustainable development in the Dominican Republic. The contract was signed by Dr. Julio Amado Castaños Guzmán, Vice-chancellor of the academic institution, and Natasha Despotovic, GFDD and DREFF Executive Director.

90 Students Climb the Highest Mountain in the Caribbean in the 12th Educational Expedition to Pico Duarte
The 12th Educational Expedition to Pico Duarte, part of the initiatives of the RDescubre program, was successfully held when 90 students from various schools in the Dominican Republic had the opportunity to climb Pico Duarte, the highest mountain in the Caribbean. The event, organized by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) in collaboration with Siempre Más Foundation, took place from

GFDD Will Launch New Book on Sustainable Development and Green Economy
Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will launch the book Hacia el desarrollo sostenible y la economía verde en la República Dominicana (Towards sustainable development and green economy in Dominican Republic), publication which includes a brief analysis of the current sustainable development in a global context, a compilation of national and international legislation regarding said topics and a practical guide to promote environmental
sustainability and resilience from both business and household perspectives.

Puerto Plata One of the Hosts Cities of the IV Edition of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival
From September 11 to 13 Puerto Plata will be one of the host cities for the IV edition of the Dominican Environmental Film Festival (DREFF).
