CILA 2013 Draws to an Exuberant Close as Enthusiastic Participants Reflect and Revel in Uniting Nations
The Ninth Edition of the International Conference of the Americas (CILA 2013) drew to a successful and inspiring close on Wednesday, October 30th, with the participation of more than 1,200 animated students from different regions of the world, who had for three days united in an environment of diplomacy and cooperation to discuss and propose solutions to the challenges facing the international community.

DREFF to participate in 20th Environmental International Film Festival (FICMA)
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, will be traveling to Barcelona, Spain, from November 5 – 9, 2013, to participate in several activities complementing screenings at the 20th Environmental International Film Festival (FICMA), one of the world’s largest and most established film festivals of its kind.

President of GFDD and FUNGLODE Leonel Fernández Receives Honorary Degree from Paris University for Solidarity with Haiti after 2010 Earthquake
On Monday, the President of the University of Paris VIII, Dr. Danielle Tartakowsky, congratulated the former President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández, when she awarded him the degree of “Doctor Honoris Causa” for the strong support he offered to the Haitian people following the earthquake that devastated the capital and much of Haiti in January of 2010.

On Saturday October 26, GFDD and FUNGLODE were delighted to offer a special screening of the newly released Dominican film, “La montaña” (The Mountain). The activity was organized for the students who participated in the Educational Excursions to Pico Duarte, a program which form part of the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) since 2012.
