New Perspectives: Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit and Publications Benefit Dominican Youth
On March 7, 2013, the New Perspectives Dominican Republic Photo Exhibit, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, will be on display at an event to benefit The DREAM Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving the educational needs of over 4,000 children and youth born into poverty along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic.

DREFF Commences Screening Tour of Environment Documentary, Bag it Across the Country
As part of the follow up to the II Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), second edition, which took place this past September, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in partnership with its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracy and Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), has organized four screenings of the documentary film Bag it, followed by discussion sessions with its director, Suzan Beraza.

University of Rhode Island Winter Programs Conclude “Al Sabor Criollo”
The two University of Rhode Island Winter Programs hosted by InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic came to a close on Thursday evening, January 17 amidst the colorful scene of the restaurant El Conuco, where students danced merengue, bachata and perico ripiao, ate traditional Dominican foods and enjoyed the sounds of live Dominican music played on instruments such as the guiro, unique to the Dominican Republic.
