Meet José Caraballo Cueto, GFDD/FUNGLODE Fellow in the Area of Economic Development and Poverty Eradication
The Fellows Program, an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, is pleased to announce the fellowship of our most recent scholar, José Caraballo Cueto, Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at The New School for Social Research. José’s investigation will examine how increases in employment and entrepreneurship would contribute to poverty eradication and enhanced market competitiveness in the Dominican Republic.

GFDD Will Organize High Level Dialogue: “The Growth of Lake Enriquillo: Environmental, Social and Scientific Implications” in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
On Saturday, July 28, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), and its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will join forces with the City College of New York (CCNY) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) to organize the high level dialogue “The Growth of Lake Enriquillo: Environmental, Social and Scientific Implications.” The program will take place from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm at FUNGLODE
Headquarters in Santo Domingo.

GFDD Reaffirms Commitment to UN Development Agenda at Working Luncheon during ECOSOC High Level Segment
During the HLS of ECOSOC held on July 2-9, 2012, GFDD Executive Director Natasha Despotovic, reinforced GFDD’s commitment to the goals of the UN, at a private luncheon hosted by the Convention on Independent Financial Advisors (CIFA), in honor of the Vice-President of the ECOSOC, Ambassador Alfonso Luis De Alba.
