In its first presentation in South America, the photo exhibit “New Perspectives: Dominican Republic” opened the evening of October 25th in Santiago, at an exquisite location across from the presidential palace, La Moneda. The corner, one of the busiest and liveliest streets in the city, sits in the heart of the city, where public servants and ministers share the sidewalk with passersby, students, families and mothers with their strollers.

The Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment, available on line in Spanish since 2008 and in print since 2011, is now available on line in English. While the modern world faces many environmental challenges, effective conservation and protection of our natural environment will require informed and concerned citizens. In response to this critical task, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) created the
Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment.
