  • Expert on Philanthropy Trains 40 Dominican NGO Representatives

    Dr. Lilya Wagner, Vice President of Philanthropy at Counterpart International dictated the course “Principles and components for a fundraising strategy” to 40 NGOs representatives from the Dominican Republic. The course was coordinated in collaboration with Alianza ONG and CEMEX Foundation from the Dominican Republic.

    The Secretary of Education of the Dominican Republic (SEE), FUNGLODE/GFDD and Microsoft coordinated the workshop “Development of Educational Software” June 28th, 2005.- This workshop, which took place in the computer lab in FUNGLODE’s headquarters in Santo Domingo, is part of the Partnership in Learning program coordinated by the Secretary of Education of the Dominican Republic, FUNGLODE/GFDD and Microsoft.

    This conference took place in FUNGLODE’s headquarters and it was coordinated by FUNGLODE, its sister institution in the US Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), CEMEX Foundation, Alianza ONG, National Council for the Private Enterprise, the Inter American Development Bank (IADB) and the UN Development Program (UNDP).

  • Conference with John B. Taylor, Former Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury

    During this conference, which was the fifth event of the OAS Lecture of the Americas, John B. Taylor pointed out the positive outlook for the Latin American countries, which has been reflected on the recent economic growth that most of them have been experiencing. The main argument of his conference was the strong linkage between democracy and economic growth.
