This annual forum supports the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by facilitating multi-stakeholder collaboration and partnerships through the sharing of information, experiences, best practices and policy
advice.

Dominican Law Students Can Now Apply to the Prestigious University of Washington’s Transnational Law Program!
The Global Dominican Academic Exchange (GDAE) program and the University of Washington (UW) School of Law have opened the application period for the Summer Institute in Transnational Law and Practice that will take place from September 1 to 15, 2017 in Seattle, Washington, United States. Applications will be received until June 30, 2017 and participants will receive a discount of 50 percent for the registration cost of the program.

The most recent production by Dominican film director Archie López, Luis, had its premiere in the United States on May 15 in the Walter Reade Theater at The Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York before a packed auditorium. The premiere included the presence of GFDD/Funglode president, Dr. Leonel Fernández, and Dr. Margarita Cedeño de Fernández, vice president of the Dominican Republic, as well as businessman Manuel Corripio, Dominican producer and director
Archie López, producer Desiré Reyes and part of the premiered movie’s cast.

GFDD hosted a networking lunch for the American Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) members and participants in the 2017 edition of Semana Dominicana (Dominican Week) in the United States, as well as representatives of the National Supermarket Association (NSA) on Friday May 12th. GFDD to Launch Spanish Edition of Fellows Research on Sustainable Tourism in the Dominican Republic at 2017 Caribbean Travelling Network Conference
GFDD in partnership with the Caribbean Travelling Network (CTN) will hold a publication launch and panel discussion on the importance of sustainable tourism for the development of the Caribbean region. GFDD/FUNGLODE Co-Signs the NGO Major Group Position Paper for the 2017 High-Level Political Forum
In its capacity as a member of the Non-Governmental Organization Major Group (NGO MG) of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, GFDD/Funglode has co-signed, together with 148 other NGOs, the official NGO MG Position Paper for the 2017 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) which will take place from July 10 to 19, 2017. This paper expresses the common views of civil society regarding this year’s HLPF theme: “Eradicating poverty and promoting
prosperity in a changing world.”
