Dominican Night to Come Again to Washington In March as Part of DCEFF
As part of the long-term partnership between the Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) and the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital (DCEFF), Dominican Night, featuring screenings of documentaries produced on the island, comes once again to the United States capital. On March 23, as part of the long-running Washingtonian festival, this year in its 25th edition, the city’s E Street Cinema will host a screening of the winner of the 2016 Globo Verde
Dominicano, the short film Ciclos by Hansel Ureña Espósito, as well as Death by a Thousand Cuts, directed by Juan Mejia and Jake Kheel, and Site of Sites, by Natalia Cabral and Oriol Estrada.

GFDD/Funglode to Support the 2017 Edition of the New York Dominican Republic Model United Nations
On Wednesday April 12, the New York Dominican Republic Model United Nations (NYDRMUN 2017) will accommodate 400 students in New York City as part of one of the largest model UN conferences open to youth in the western hemisphere. The event, which is co-organized by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarollo, will run from Wednesday April 12 to Sunday April 16 and will be hosted at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, with a closing ceremony due

Photographer Steve McCurry to Give a Masterclass in Santo Domingo on His First Visit to the Country
The famous photographer Steve McCurry, known worldwide by, among others, his work “The Afghan Girl “, will visit the country in February, as part of the filming of a movie on his own life, directed by the French Denis Delestrac.
