  • Announcing Fellows Publication Launch and Panel Discussion on Climate Change Adaptation at the University of Rhode Island

    The Fellows Program is excited to host a panel discussion and publication launch for a new edition of the GFDD publication series, Research and Ideas, on Thursday October 29, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the University of Rhode Island (URI) in Kingston, Rhode Island. The publication, titled: Climate Change in the Dominican Republic: Coastal Resources and Communities, is co-authored by 2014 GFDD Fellows, Ms. Hilary Lohmann and Mr. Mat Rosa, post graduate
    alumni in Marine Affairs at URI, who will be presenting on the panel.

  • GFDD Book Launch and Discussion on Dominican Republic and China: Exchange, Trade, and Investment

    Under the series “Research and Ideas”, GFDD will launch the book “Dominican Republic and P.R. China: Exchange, Trade, and Investment”, in which researcher Yuan Li demonstrates through data and analysis the extent of Chinese economic influence in the Dominican Republic, including trade relationships, economic activity of the Chinese diaspora in the country, foreign direct investment, and policy recommendations to maximize the benefits of these relationships.

  • GFDD/Funglode Celebrates Autism Day with a Multidisciplinary Panel of Experts in Santo Domingo

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in cooperation with its health branch, the Center for Health Studies and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) will host, along with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities in Miami (UM-NSU CARD), Loxim and ORDER, a panel discussion on Friday, April 10, titled "Path Towards Inclusion: How to Understand Autism". As part of the United
    Nation”s Autism Awareness Day, the objective of GFDD/Funglode in organizing this event is to provide a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas about autism from a variety of perspectives: family, educational and clinical.

  • Inclusion of New Technology in Education Begins with Quality of Teachers

    The Center for Education Studies of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) and its sister institution in the United States, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in coordination with Microsoft Dominicana and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) kicked of the Forum on Higher Education and Innovation on Wednesday, March 18th.
