GFDD Showcased Dominican Republic at the OAS
On September 10th, 2014, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) showcased amazing photographs of the Dominican Republic from its New Perspectives book, the Dominican Republic Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment and other publications and promotional material of the Dominican culture during the Organization of American States (OAS) celebration of the CXCIII anniversary of the independence of Central America and the XXXIII anniversary of the independence of
Belize.

The 44th OAS General Assembly closed with the adoption of the Declaration of Asuncion “Development with social inclusion”
The Member countries of the Organization of American States (OAS) pledged to undertake "the necessary efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty, especially extreme poverty; combat inequity, inequality, discrimination and social exclusion; and increase equitable access to health services as well as to quality and inclusive education" in the Americas during the meetings that took place in Asuncion, Paraguay in the framework of the 44th General Assembly of the
Organization of American States.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development Delegation Attends OAS Hemispheric Forum
GFDD and FUNGLODE Directors Semiramis de Miranda and Yamile Eusebio had the opportunity to contribute on behalf of the Foundations to the 11th Hemispheric Forum with Civil Society and Social Actors at the Organization of American States (OAS) during the working groups regarding the preparation of the recommendations document to be submitted to the OAS General Secretariat.

GFDD Facilitates Briefing to Students representing Dominican Republic at Model OAS
On March 24, in continuing efforts to support and represent the Dominican community, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) welcomed 12 students from St. Lawrence University, a liberal arts college in New York State to learn more about GFDD’s work and civil society in the Dominican Republic (DR).
