Conclusion of InteRDom PRO Opens Doors for Future Collaboration
InteRDom PRO: Professional Externship for Professors and Administrators came to a close on Saturday, March 17th. The six participating professors and administrators met with InteRDom representatives individually to discuss all that they had seen over the past three days, and the best ways that the program can serve them and their students going forward.

On Friday, March 16, 2012 InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic brought together six professors and administrators from universities in the United States with representatives from Dominican public, private and non-governmental organizations for “Business Day,” the highlight of the 4-day event InteRDom PRO: Professional Externship for Professors and Administrators.

InteRDom Contributes to the Internationalization of University Curriculum Through InteRDom PRO
The 4-day event InteRDom PRO: Professional Externship for Professors and Academics, presented in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic by InteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic, welcomed 6 representatives from United States public and private universities interested in enriching the international curriculums of their institutions with Caribbean—and specifically Dominican—topics.

The high-level annual meeting of ECOSOC convened executives from ECOSOC, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Member States, Observers, accredited intergovernmental organizations, civil society organizations and private sector entities.

For the second time, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) have been invited by the NGO Committee for Financing for Development to deliver an intervention during the 2012 High-Level Meeting of the Economic and Social Council with the Bretton Woods Institutions, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, “Coherence, coordination and cooperation in the context of
Financing for Development,” scheduled to take place March 12-13, at United Nations headquarters in New York City. GFDD and FUNGLODE will contribute to thematic debate 2: “Financing for sustainable development.”

InteRDom Attends Non-Profit, Education, and Healthcare Career Fair at New York University
InteRDom continued to cultivate its budding relationship with New York University on Thursday, March 8 with its participation in the 2012 Non-profit, Education and Healthcare Career Fair, hosted by the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development, which services students in all NYU graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

Screening of Environmental Documentary The Polar Explorer
As part of the follow up to the I Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), which took place last September, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in partnership with its sister institution in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global Democracy and Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will present a screening of the documentary film The Polar Explorer, followed by a discussion session with scientist and director Mark Terry.

GFDD Proud to Host Special Panel Womens Empowerment in Developing Country Democracies
On Tuesday, March 6, 2012, GFDD was honored to host a special panel at the 56th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in partnership with the Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations and the Special Coordinator Civil Society, Office of the President of the General Assembly.

InteRDom Prepares to Receive Professors and Administrators for InteRDom PRO
On Wednesday, March 14, InteRDom, the internship and academic study program of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will receive 7 professors and administrators from partner universities for the biannual InteRDom PRO event.
