GFDD and FUNGLODE Host Launch of Spanish Edition of UNESCO’s Education for All Global Monitoring Report (EFAGMR)
On February 11th, FUNGLODE will host the launch the highly anticipated Spanish edition of the UNESCO’s Educational for All Global Monitoring Report. Senior Communications and Media Experrt of the EFAGMR, Marisol Sanjines will be discussing the findings and implications of the initiative, which is in its tenth year.

GFDD and FUNGLODE Publication Points towards the Sustainable Development of Santo Domingo via its Metro Transportation System
On January 15, 2013 a report published earlier in 2012 regarding “El Metro and the Impacts of Transportation System Integration in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,” was presented by Carl Allen, 2009 GFDD/FUNGLODE Fellow and graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School Master’s Program in Public Policy and Urban Planning.

DREFF Joins Forces with Samaná’s Second Annual Humpback Whale Festival
As a way of promoting the Samaná Peninsula’s impressive natural and cultural heritage, as well as commemorating the start of the 2013 annual whale watching season, the Second Annual Humpback Whale Festival was officially launched today in the coastal city of Santa Barbara de Samaná.

GFDD Initiates 2013’s School and Community Garden Program
On Saturday January 12, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development’s initiative, Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF) will launch its 2013 School and Community Garden Program with a workshop and creation of a vegetable garden at the Rene Descartes School in Bani. Subsequent garden workshops will be conducted on January 14th, 18th and 19th at the Fray Ramon Panes School, Barreras Primary and Middle
School, La Nueva Esperanza Women’s Association, and Canada School, respectively.
