The former President of the Dominican Republic and President of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD/Funglode), Dr. Leonel Fernández, warned that if the Dominican Republic were to grant citizenship to all those born in its territory, the country would eventually lose its national identity.

In commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic la Fundacion Global Democracia y Desarrollo (GFDD/Funglode) held a free screening of the film “Un acto de rebeldía al día” (A Rebellious Act a Day) at the GFDD office in Washington, DC on Thursday, November 15.

On December 12, 2018 the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) will collaborate with the Lawrence Public Library and the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts Mayor’s office for a screening of the film, “Hay un país en el mundo” (There is a Country in the World).

President Fernández to Launch Newest Book at the Miami Book Fair
President of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD/Funglode) and former President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández, will hold a book launch for his most recent work, “Años de avance. Escritos de Teoría y Acción” (unofficial translation: “Years of Progress. Writings on Theory and Action”) at the Miami Book Fair.
