The Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary of the Environment, available on line in Spanish since 2008 and in print since 2011, is now available on line in English. The Fellows Program Announces Research Initiative with New York University Child Study Center on the Effects of Developmental Transactions during Early Childhood on the Mental Health and Functioning of Young Dominican Children
The Fellows Program is pleased to announce that it will be collaborating with the New York University Child Study Center to realize a research project that will investigate how parenting practices impact the well-being and development of young children. The initiative will complement other studies undertaken by the Child Study Center to identify risks and protective factors that affect the mental health and functioning of children of Dominican and Mexican heritage in New York
City.

DREFF Hosts Event to Present the Findings of the Fundación Vida Azul 2012 Coastal Clean-up Report
On October 15, the Dominican Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), partnered with Fundación Vida Azul to present the institute’s “2012 Coastal Clean-Up Report” at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo. The outcome document is a statistical assessment of the results of the national coastal clean-up project organized internationally by The Ocean Conservancy.

DREFF Will Partner with Fundación Vida Azul to Present Fundación Vida Azul’s “2012 Coastal Clean-Up Report”
The Dominican Republic Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of GFDD and FUNGLODE, will partner with Fundación Vida Azul to present Fundación Vida Azul’s “2012 Coastal Clean-Up Report.” The report is a statistical assessment of the results of the national coastal clean-up project organized internationally by The Ocean Conservancy. The study analyzes the types of trash collected and the principal sources of contamination.
