    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) has just published its 2007 Annual Report, which features all the projects, initiatives and achievements realized by the institution, sister foundation of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) in the United States, during the past year.

  • GFDD, FUNGLODE and ANU-RD Launch 2007 State of the Future Report

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo’s International Studies Center and the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR) announced the launch of the 2007 State of the Future report in Spanish, Thursday, February 7, 2008, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • GFDD, FUNGLODE and UNA-DR Will Celebrate Sixth Annual NYDRMUN

    For the sixth consecutive year, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic and Fordham University will organize the New York – Dominican Republic Model United Nations Conference (NYDRMUN). The event will take place March 13-15, 2008 at the United Nations Headquarters and Fordham University in New York City.

  • GFDD and FUNGLODE Receive Donation From the John D. & Catherine T. Mac Arthur Foundation

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will receive a donation from the John D. & Catherine T. Mac Arthur Foundation to provide training to judges in the area of environmental law in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica. Training sessions will be implemented during the course of three years, beginning January 2008 and ending December 2010.

  • 2007 International Conference of the Americas

    During the opening ceremony of CILA 2007 Master of Ceremonies, Crisermy Mercado; Secretary General, Diana Zuluaga; Executive Director of the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-RD), Pilar Sandoval; and FUNGLODE General Director, Frederic Eman-Zadé, welcomed the more than 1,500 individuals that participated in the event.

  • Panel Discussion on Constitutional Reform Featuring President Leonel Fernández

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) organized a panel discussion on constitutional reform on September 18, 2007, at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.

  • Present Latin American Context and Perspectives

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) in association with Georgetown University’s Center for Latin American Studies and the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service organized a presentation and discussion session with Dominican President, Leonel Fernández, Tuesday, September 18, 2007, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at Georgetown University.

  • GFDD, FUNGLODE, CSIS and Inter-American Dialogue Present: Panel Discussion on Constitutional Reform

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), the Center for Strategic Studies and Inter-American Dialogue will present a panel discussion on constitutional reform featuring keynote speaker, Leonel Fernández, President of the Dominican Republic and Honorary President of GFDD and FUNGLODE. The President’s address: “Constitutional Reform: Democracy and Rule of Law in the Dominican Republic,” will emphasize the democratic
    processes taking place within the nation.

  • Presentation with President Fernández at Georgetown University

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) are pleased to announce that they are organizing a presentation and discussion session with Dominican President, Leonel Fernández, in association with Georgetown University’s Center for Latin American Studies and the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.

It encourages intellectual and professional development of Dominican general audiences and experts in the country and abroad, while working to offer viable action plans and solutions to domestic problems for the benefit of Dominicans residing in the Dominican Republic, the United States and Latin America.
