  • Interview with InteRDom Student of the Month: Arisleyda Diloné

    I worked with the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic and with the Center for National Commercial Business. At the United Nations Association I met people from all different backgrounds and assisted with C.I.L.A., the International Conference of the Americas, which united over 2000 young students to do a simulation of the United Nations.

  • InteRDom Students Visit Largest Cave in the Caribbean

    InteRDom students had the opportunity to visit some of the hidden wonders of the Dominican Republic when they ventured into the Fun Fun Caves (formerly known as the Devil’s Cave), near the town of Hato Mayor on the eastern part of the island. The fabulous caves are said to be amongst the largest in the world and are the longest in the Caribbean.

  • GFDD/ FUNGLODE 2007 Awards

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo, call the general public to participate in the GFDD/ FUNGLODE Prizes 2007 for the following categories.

  • GDLN Ordinary Meeting

    GFDD/ FUNGLODE in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP for its name in Spanish) will be the host of the fourth Global Development Learning Network – GDLN Ordinary Meeting. This is the first time the Dominican Republic hosts a GDLN event. This event, which will take place from December 11th to the 13th, in the FUNGLODE headquarters, has as a primary objective the definition of policys and procedures that will strengthen the training and distance
    education programs, that the Network develops.

  • Dominican Students selected for U.N. Conference on Human Rights

    The United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic (UNA-DR), the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister institution Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will take part in the Ninth Annual U.N. Student Conference on Human Rights on the 30th November and 1st December 2006.

  • IV Introductory Computer Course

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development/ Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo in coordination with the NGO Alliance and Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA for its name in Spanish), initiated the IV Computer Course aimed at Non Governmental Organizations (NGO’s), with the purpose of training the personnel that work in the NGO Alliance member organizations.

    As part of the Lecture Series of the Americas, the Organization of American States presents the seventeenth lecture with the title “Beyond Words and Paper: Why the Americas Must Act Against Corruption”. The guest speaker is Huguette Labelle, Chair of Transparency International.

  • Breaking the Cycle of Poverty: Challenges and Opportunities for LDCs

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), attended the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) International Forum on the Eradication of Poverty.

  • DPI/ NGO Briefing

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), attended the United Nations Department of Public Information NGO Section (DPI/NGO) briefing which had as a main theme the presentation of the Human Development Report for 2006. The briefing was held November 16th, 2006, at the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium, United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
