  • DRGFF Attends 2008 Sundance Film Festival

    The Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) attended the most recent edition of Sundance, the world’s most renowned independent film festival, March 17-27, 2008, in Park City, Utah.

  • Celebration of 2007 GFDD and FUNGLODE Awards Ceremony

    On January 29, 2007, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will hold an awards ceremony commemorate the winners of the GFDD and FUNGLODE Awards in the categories of: Photography, Short Film, Documentary Film, Short Story, Poetry, Essay and Journalism.

  • Presentation on National Plan to Convert to Energy Efficient Traffic Lights

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) presented the Seminar, “Opportunities for Sustainable Energy in the Dominican Republic,” on January 17, 2008, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, as part of the First International Energy Week.

  • Presentation on Energy Consumption Patterns

    Latin America and the Caribbean, a region comprised of a considerable number of developing nations, emits a mere 4% of global CO2 emissions. According to Richardo Sánchez Sosa, Director of the United Nations Environment Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean, the continental region is considered the cleanest on the planet.

  • Seminar on Sustainable Energy in the Dominican Republic

    On Thursday, January 17th, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) presented the Seminar, “Opportunities for Sustainable Development in the Dominican Republic,” as part of International Week on Energy. The event culminated Friday, January 18th.

    Throughout 2008, GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) will offer a series of courses on production and cinematography, as part of its overall mission to advance the development of the cinematographic industry in the Dominican Republic.

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) will be offering the workshop, Cinematographic Scriptwriting, February 11-15, 2008, from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo.

  • Seminar on Sustainable Energy in Dominican Republic

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will present the seminar, “Opportunities for Sustainable Energy in the Dominican Republic,” on January 17, 2008, from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo. This seminar will form part of the International Week on Energy taking place in the Dominican Republic, January 14-18. The events taking place in the Dominican Republic will be organized by the
    National Commission on Energy, together with thirty public and private institutions and international organisms.
