GFDD Participate in the Dominican Week 2013 – the Discussion Panel on the Impact of Higher Education on the Dominican Republic’s Development
On Thursday, May 16, in the framework of Semana Dominicana 2013 (Dominican Week 2013), GFDD and its sister organization FUNGLODE collaborating with APEC University, City University of New York (CUNY), Center for Worker Education and International Studies Program in the City College of New York hosted the discussion panel entitled “Higher education’s impact on the Dominican Republic’s development.”

The senior journalist proposed the adoption of an English-language digital media model created by Dominicans in the United States, which includes a platform in the Dominican Republic for the diaspora community, to broadcast relevant news stories about the Dominican Republic and the Dominican community in the United States to the English-speaking population in the United States.

During the third week of September, New York and Washington D.C. will be hosts to “Dominican Week”; a week filled with activities that represent the Dominican community abroad. Some of those activities are panels, conferences, roundtables, fairs, and various cultural events.
