    For the fifth year, the Dominican Republic Association of the United Nations is offering Dominican nationals, and members of the Diaspora in the United States, the opportunity to partake in the United Nations System by means of the Dominican Model United Nations in New York (NYDRMUN 2007).

  • DRGFF Website Nominated for “Oscars of the Internet”

    The DR Global Film Festival (DRGFF) has been nominated for The 11th Annual Webby Award and The 11th Annual Webby People’s Voice Award, in the category of Events and Live Broadcasts. DRGFF represents one of five nominees in the category. Over 8,000 entries were considered for nominations in over 100 categories.

  • Canadian Foundation for the Americas

    Founded in 1990, the Canadian Foundation for the Americas is an independent policy institute, based in Ottawa, that fosters informed analysis and debate on social, political and economic issues facing the Americas. We support a greater understanding of these issues in Canada and throughout the region. In March 2006 FOCAL and GFDD/FUNGLODE signed a 5-year agreement on technical cooperation, diplomatic and international matters, and professional trainings and research projects.

  • Six Movies Portrayed in DRGFF Nominated for Oscars

    Six of the movies that were first portrayed in the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival, which took place from November 8-12 and organized by Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and its sister organization in Santo Domingo, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo.

  • InteRDom Students Visit Largest Cave in the Caribbean

    InteRDom students had the opportunity to visit some of the hidden wonders of the Dominican Republic when they ventured into the Fun Fun Caves (formerly known as the Devil’s Cave), near the town of Hato Mayor on the eastern part of the island. The fabulous caves are said to be amongst the largest in the world and are the longest in the Caribbean.

  • Interview with InteRDom Student of the Month: Arisleyda Diloné

    I worked with the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic and with the Center for National Commercial Business. At the United Nations Association I met people from all different backgrounds and assisted with C.I.L.A., the International Conference of the Americas, which united over 2000 young students to do a simulation of the United Nations.
