  • Seminar on Sustainable Energy in Dominican Republic

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) will present the seminar, “Opportunities for Sustainable Energy in the Dominican Republic,” on January 17, 2008, from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo. This seminar will form part of the International Week on Energy taking place in the Dominican Republic, January 14-18. The events taking place in the Dominican Republic will be organized by the
    National Commission on Energy, together with thirty public and private institutions and international organisms.

  • GFDD, FUNGLODE and UNA-DR Will Celebrate Sixth Annual NYDRMUN

    For the sixth consecutive year, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic and Fordham University will organize the New York – Dominican Republic Model United Nations Conference (NYDRMUN). The event will take place March 13-15, 2008 at the United Nations Headquarters and Fordham University in New York City.

  • Official Launch of Management Plan for Sosúa Marine Park

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), Counterpart International and the Sosúa Marine Park held an event to commemorate the launch of the official plan for the effective management of the Sosúa Marine Park. The event took place at the Hotel Casa Marina in Sosúa, Dominican Republic. During the assembly, GFDD Environmental Projects Coordinator, Emy Rodríguez, and Counterpart International Facilitator, Kelvin
    Guerrero, discussed the objectives of the management plan and distributed copies of the official plan to stakeholders in attendance.

  • Fostering a Television Culture in Ibero-America

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) held the First Meeting on Ibero-American Television Culture at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo on December 4, 2007. The objective of the conference was to gather experts in the areas of communication, culture and education to discuss the development of an Ibero-American Television Culture and define a series of tasks that would be accomplished to achieve the regional
    objective.

  • Workshop on Application Design and Programming

    Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), in collaboration with Microsoft’s Partners in Learning Program, organized the seminar, “Application Design and Programming Utilizing Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Language Intergrated Query (LINQ),” on December 11, 2007, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo. The program provided participants with information necessary to master these Microsoft
    components.
