  • Students Begin Internships in NYC

    The six Dominican students that received scholarships from GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute and New York University’s Opportunity Program began their studies in New York, July 9, 2007.

  • From Rossellini to Rossellini

    Natasha Despotovic, Executive Director of GFDD and Vice President of FUNGLODE, introduced Renzo, and spoke of his personal contributions he had made to the film industry, both with regard to productions and his work as an educator.

  • Best Practices for Teaching Reading and Writing

    Nine Dominican teachers and professors from both public and private institutions will be participating in the conference: “Best Practices for Teaching Reading and Writing,” being organized by GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute, Long Island University’s Higher Education Opportunity Program and New York University’s Opportunity Program.

  • Introduction to Audiovisual Production: Film and Television Closing Ceremony

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute will be holding a closing ceremony on Friday, June 29, 2007, in FUNGLODE’s auditorium, to celebrate the successful completion of the Institute’s summer course, “Introduction to Audiovisual Production: Film and Television.” During the ceremony, course participants will present the commercials and short films they developed throughout the course.

  • The Global Media Arts Institute Presents: Five Days with Renzo Rossellini

    GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI) will be presenting the program: “Five Days with Renzo Rossellini,” July 16 – 21, 2007 at FUNGLODE’s headquarters in Santo Domingo. This program seeks to commemorate the work and memory of legendary filmmaker, Roberto Rossellini.

  • Natasha Despotovic Presents the Global Media Arts Institute

    During the VIII Conference of Virtual Educa Brazil, under the section: Cultural Industries, GFDD Executive Director, Natasha Despotovic, presented the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), a new initiative of GFDD and its sister institution, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) in the Dominican Republic.

  • Inauguration of Virtual Educa Brazil 2007

    The inauguration of Virtual Educa Brazil 2007 took place June 18, 2007, at the Parque Tecnológico in Sao José dos Campos. The conference will continue throughout the week, ending on June 22.
